Seatt Terms of Service

These are the terms you agree to by using Seatt. They are written plainly on purpose. Where a sentence looks like it is doing legal work, it is.

1. Who can use Seatt

You must be 18 or older. You must not have been convicted of a felony or indictable offence involving violence, sexual assault, or harm to a child, and you must not be on any sex offender register. You must not have been removed from Seatt before.

One account per person. Your account is yours; do not let anyone else use it.

2. What Seatt is

You post a plan: somewhere public, at a time, with one seat open. Other people ask for that seat. You pick one. Once you do, the two of you get a thread and the plan is closed to everyone else.

Seatt is an introduction service. We do not screen users for criminal history and we do not vouch for anyone. The verification checkmark means one specific thing (a live person matched the photos on that profile) and it means nothing else. It is not a background check, a character reference, or a promise of safety. Read §7 before you meet anyone.

3. Your content

You keep ownership of your photos, your bio, your notes and your messages. You give us a licence to host and display them inside Seatt so the product can function. Nothing broader, and it ends when you delete them.

Do not post: anyone else's photos, images of children, nudity or sexual content, anything illegal, contact details for commercial purposes, or anything designed to mislead about who you are. We moderate photos automatically and remove what fails.

4. How to behave

No harassment, threats, hate speech, stalking, spam, solicitation, or commercial promotion. No asking anyone for money, and no sending money to anyone you met here. That is what romance fraud looks like every time.

Report anything that worries you. Blocking is immediate and mutual.

5. Showing up

Seatt tracks whether confirmed plans actually happen, because that is the whole difference between this and an app full of conversations that go nowhere.

• Either of you can step back within the grace window after a seat is taken, with no mark on your record.
• After that, cancelling late or not turning up is recorded.
• The Reliable badge is earned at five confirmed dates with a no-show rate under 10%. There is no negative badge and no public score, deliberately, and permanently.
• Repeated no-shows get an account reviewed and may get it removed.

6. Seatt Plus

Optional. Billed through the App Store or Google Play, which is also where you cancel. We cannot cancel a store subscription for you. It renews until you cancel. Prices are shown before you buy. Refunds follow the store's policy, not ours.

Plus lifts the weekly limits and adds filters, requester identity, feed priority, and read receipts. We may change what Plus includes; if we take something away we will tell you first.

7. Meeting people: read this one

Seatt does not conduct criminal background checks. Meeting strangers carries risk that no app can remove.

• Meet in public, the first time and for as long as you want to.
• Tell someone where you are going. The app has a button for it.
• Arrange your own transport, both ways.
• Do not send money to anyone, for any reason, ever.
• If something feels wrong, leave. You owe nobody an explanation.

You meet other people at your own risk. To the extent the law allows, Seatt is not liable for what happens when you do.

8. Ending it

You can delete your account in Settings, immediately, without asking us.

We can suspend or remove an account that breaks these terms, that we reasonably believe is being used to harm someone, or that is the subject of credible reports. Where it is safe and lawful to tell you why, we will.

9. Disclaimers and liability

Seatt is provided "as is". We do not warrant that it will be uninterrupted, error-free, or that you will meet anyone you like.

To the maximum extent permitted by law, our total liability to you for any claim relating to Seatt is limited to the greater of CAD $100 or what you paid us in the twelve months before the claim. We are not liable for indirect, consequential, or punitive damages.

Nothing here limits liability that cannot be limited by law, including, in Canada, your rights under applicable consumer protection legislation, and in Quebec, your rights under the Consumer Protection Act.

10. Disputes

These terms are governed by the laws of Ontario and the federal laws of Canada. Disputes go to the courts of Ontario, unless the law where you live gives you the right to bring a claim locally, in which case you keep that right. You may always use small claims court.

11. Changes

We will post the new date at the top and tell you in the app before anything material takes effect. Continuing to use Seatt after that is acceptance.
